CSSA is a regional sailing association organized under the leadership of US Sailing.  CSSA is made up of member sailing organizations and individual sailors in Oklahoma, Kansas and portions of Nebraska, Missouri, Arkansas and Iowa.

CSSA, along with Texas Sailing Association and Sailing Association of Intermountian Lakes, make up Area F of the national Sailing Authority US Sailing . 

The objective of the Association shall be to encourage and promote the sport of competitive sailing in the area through:

            1.     The sanctioning, evaluating and publishing of regattas;

            2.     The establishment and standardization of regatta management guidelines and sailing instructions;

            3.     The scheduling and authorization of the conduct of qualifying regattas for US SAILING events;

            4.     The appointment of Association representatives and delegates for coordination and cooperation with US SAILING;

            5.     The establishment of committees representing the common interests of various fleets within the Area;

            6.     Acting as the central agency for submission of appeals and the arbitration of dispute arising from regattas within the Area;

            7.     The promotion of the published interest in area events.
